Preparing For The Next Mercury Retrograde
And Performing Sacred “Jappa”
Preparing For The Next Mercury Retrograde And Performing Sacred “Jappa” – By Dr. Schavi M. Ali
Every planet in the cosmos has a specific Vibrational Frequency and tone which governs particular aspects of creation in which ever galaxy they reside. In terms of human beings, the planets in our solar system affect our physiological, mental, and emotional states which can be gleaned by having a natal chart prepared by a qualified Cosmic Scientist (also known as an “Astrologer”).

The Next Mercury Retrograde
As the various angles and degrees between planets in the houses of a chart are analyzed, a person’s potential future health issues can be known and avoided. If a chart is erected in later years, and there have already been health concerns, they can be healed.
However, the planets also govern the wellness of the human collective in certain ways at particular times as events unfold on Earth/Gaia.
The planet Mercury governs the nervous system, the vocal cords, the gall bladder, the thyroid, and the brain.
With all of the chaos and confusion currently engulfing humanity, paying close attention to Mercury’s energies is paramount, especially since it will soon retrograde in Scorpio (transformation) in the Tropical Zodiac and in Libra (balance) in the Sidereal Zodiac. Indeed, the human collective is moving thru a powerful “transformative” process, and “balancing” is necessary.
The pre-shadow of the next Mercury Retrograde begins on September 28th. When any planet retrogrades, its pre-shadow is when it first moves into the sign in which it will have its retrograde.
The actual retrogradation period of Mercury is from October 14th to November 3rd. The post-shadow will last until December 2nd.
There are ancient techniques called “Mantras” (Sanskrit for “Mind Tool”) which assist in healing and in keeping well the physical vessel. The “Mantra” for Mercury and the parts of the body it governs is: AUM BUDDAYAH NAMAHA” (“OH, DIVINE, I BOW TO THY ENLIGHTENMENT”).
The Next Mercury Retrograde
First, cleanse it by rinsing it in cool water and towel-drying it and placing it sunshine for approximately an hour.
If it is a type of wood or seed such as Boddhi Seed, Sandalwood, or Lotus Seed, cleanse it only by moving it thru the smoke of a healing and cleansing incense such as Amber, Frankincense, or Sandalwood for several moments.
This is because woods and seeds tend to crack or become dull if they are placed in water too often.
To bless a mala, recite the “consciousness opening” mantra over it seven times: “AUM RUTSIRA MANI PRAWA TAYA HUM” (“OH DIVINE, COME FORTH ON THE BREATH LIKE A THUNDERBOLT AND PURIFY”)!
Then gently blow your breath on the mala, and begin chanting while holding the mala in your right hand (the right side of the body sends forth energy–thus, you are sending out your prayers to SOURCE). Recite the full mantra on each bead beginning with the bead to the right of the “Guru” bead.
The gemstones which align with Mercury are Emerald, Green Jade, and Green Aventurine. Perform “Jappa” (“Chanting”) on a mala of 108 beads with a 109th “Guru” bead (“One Who Brings Light from Darkness”) comprised of any of these gemstones during the pre-shadow of Mercury and during its retrograde.
You can then either wear or carry the mala daily. If a person is having any imbalances in any of the physical areas mentioned above, he or she certainly does not have to wait until Mercury is retrograde in order to chant the mantra. However, when Mercury retrogrades, if the parts of the body mentioned have been having challenges, they sometimes are more pronounced during the retrograde if they have not been healed beforehand.
If a mala has not been blessed by Spiritual Leader (Guru, Acharya, etc.), the owner can bless it him or herself.
The Next Mercury Retrograde
Do not touch the “Guru” bead when you chant. It represents SOURCE. Thus, when you reach the bead that is next to the “Guru” bead (it will be on the left of it), you have completed one round of “Jappa”.
You may do as many rounds as you like, but one round is sufficient daily. (It is taught, however, that in order for a mala to be “seeded” with a mantra, “Jappa” must be performed with it daily for 40 days).
Upon completion of your daily chanting, hold the mala between your hands in the prayer position, but have all of your fingers down with only the ring fingers straight up. Pray silently from your heart for your needs.
After your prayer is finished, recite the full mantra once more aloud, and then touch the “Guru” bead to your third eye. This represents receiving a blessing from SOURCE.
While you are chanting, recite the mantra aloud at first, but then allow your voice to gradually become increasingly softer until you are only chanting silently. Do not be concerned about when to make your voice quieter and quieter. Your Higher Self will guide the process.
However, if your mala has “Marker Beads” which are beads that are different from the others and which are typically placed after each 27th bead, then you may choose to gradually soften your voice as you reach each of these beads. Many people prefer to have “Marker Beads” on their malas to keep track of their mantra recitations. If you cannot obtain a mala comprised of any of the above mentioned gemstones, you can recite any mantra on a Boddhi Seed mala.
It is taught by Tibetan monks that when we chant with Boddhi Seed, our mantras and prayers are multiplied countless times in the ethereal realm of the DIVINE.
Periodically rub the beads of any mala with Sandalwood oil (known in Sanskrit as “Chandana”) to keep its “consciousness” open (to keep it vibrating) and to keep it shiny. Keep your mala in a special pouch in a sacred place such as on your altar when you are not wearing or carrying it.
Malas were the first rosaries (used in Catholicism) and the first dhiker beads (used in Islam). Archeologists have discovered prayer beads made of Amber and other substances in the ruins of ancient Kemet (Egypt) that are over 40,000 years old.
They were known in Kemet as “Sha-Sha” which translates from their language of Medu Neter (“Sacred Speech”) as “Luck”. From the annals of the ancient space/time continuum of Earth/Gaia (which was called “Geb” in Kemet), we can retrieve sacred methods of connection to SOURCE which has stood the test of the movements from eon to eon, age to age, and century to century.

At the root of a tree is where the health of the entire tree begins. Let us dig deeply at our “roots” and receive the blessings of our “Tree of Life”. As the tree of continuing civilization grows, it will be only as healthy as our appreciation for its rich roots.
For example, in Bharata (India), even the richest Sandalwood oil comes from the root of the Chandana trees, and this oil has been known since ancient times and tested by science in modern times to lower blood pressure, to balance hormones, to strengthen the immune system against colds and flu, to soothe aches and pains, to smooth skin, to calm the nervous system, and to elevate consciousness during meditation.
Human history is indeed long and strong.
Let us give it TUA NETER! (“SACRED PRAISES”)!

We are in the “Eclipse Portal” and have had a Lunar Eclipse on November 30th, and there will be a Total Solar Eclipse on December 14th followed after by the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere on December 21st.
Several days prior to both a Lunar Eclipse and a Solar Eclipse and for several days afterwards is the “Eclipse Portal”. Stronger solar events happen at this time, and they affect every aspect of creation! These solar flares are electromagnetic radiation at its most intense–PHOTONIC LIGHT which is transformational to our DNA.
The first eclipse of what is called the “Eclipse Season” begins with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on Monday, November 30, 2020 in Gemini in the Tropical/Western Zodiac (all types of communication such as spiritual downloads, conversations, technology) and in Taurus in the Sidereal/Vedic Zodiac (beauty, strength, material values, economical development).
The term “QUANTUM” is defined as the smallest unit of a substance or thing, and the smallest unit of matter is an atom. “LIGHT” is photonic energy particles. In other words, and for brief explanation, “Photons” consist of “Light” particles. Thus, “QUANTUM LIGHT” is the smallest unit of photonic energy steadily emitted from the Great Central Sun to the Sun of the Milky Way Galaxy (which is in the constellation of Sagittarius) and then to each planet in the galaxy which includes Earth/Gaia.
It is celebrated each year in the autumn (in late October or early November according to the Vedic calendar) as a time of praying for and meditating on both material and spiritual prosperity. Sri Lakshmi, the feminine aspect of SOURCE which blesses us with abundance, is honored.
