  • The fear of clowns, or coulrophobia, is something that has been widely reported in both adults and children across several cultures. In the new research, published recently in the journal Frontiers in Psychology, scientists from the University of South Wales assessed data from an international survey of nearly 1,000 adult participants from 64 countries and found that more than half of the respondents reported having some degree of coulrophobia. Exaggerated facial features of clowns and makeup hiding emotional signals are the main reasons people fear them, according to the study. Another reason cited was the negative portrayals of clowns in popular culture, like that of the character of Pennywisein Stephen King’s It.

  • Sons of Russian-Israeli oligarchs, captains of industry, young scions who have made the right investment. The profiles rotate, the goal is always the same: “to squeeze every last penny out of the victims”. Sometimes they start with a text message sent by mistake, sometimes with a Tinder match. They are lurking behind the screens, that of scammers is a real hunt. The term scammer can easily be translated as “swindler”, but is often associated with those who organize Romance Scams, love-based scams. Victims have lost millions of dollars in “pig-slaughter romance scams” in recent years. The name is not chosen at random, scammers in fact call their targets pigs that “we make them fat and then slaughter them”, as revealed by Xiao Zui, former head of a team of scammers who spoke to the BBC wearing a mask to make himself unrecognizable.

  • The New York Times’ unnamed sources said US President Joe Biden and his top aides “did not authorize” the attack on Nord Stream and that “there was no US involvement” in the blasts. These statements directly address last month’s report by investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, who accused the US of ordering the bombing and planting the explosives. Some officials see “Ukraine and its allies” as having “the most logical potential motive” to destroy the pipelines. It was unclear who they meant by allies; though Poland has been the most outspoken critic of Nord Stream, the US and the entire NATO bloc have sent more than $100 billion worth of weapons and other aid to Kiev over the past year. “Any findings that put blame on Kyiv or Ukrainian proxies could prompt a backlash in Europe and make it harder for the West to maintain a united front in support of Ukraine,” the Times reporters noted.

  • German authorities probing explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines have identified a vessel which was reportedly used in the attack on the pipelines. The yacht belongs to a Polish-based company owned by two Ukrainians, according to the reports. German state broadcaster ARD, SWR radio and Die Zeit newspaper launched what they called their own joint journalistic investigation into the activities of German law enforcement authorities involved in this case. Their findings indicate the yacht set sail from the German northeastern port city of Rostock on September 6, having received explosives and equipment for the operation a from a delivery truck. The yacht was later identified on the Danish island of Christianso, located just north-east of the island of Bornholm, where the pipelines were damaged on September 26, 2022. The vessel was then returned to the owners, where investigators managed to find traces of explosives on a cabin table, the outlets claim. The sabotage was reportedly carried out by a team of six people, including a captain, two divers, two diving assistants, and a female doctor.

  • Many residents of a neighborhood in Lincoln County, Tennessee, are fed up with a “whiskey fungus” that’s covering their property — and they’re blaming the nearby Jack Daniels storage facilities. The black fungus, they say, is being fed by ethanol vapors emanating from barrel houses owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation, where Jack Daniels whiskey is aged and stored. “The black fungus will cover an entire shrub and just completely strangle the bush,” said Patrick Long, whose home in Mulberry, Tennessee, is right next to the Jack Daniels barrel house. “The evaporation of the ethanol that’s inside of those barrel houses with all of that alcohol turns into a black fungus and that black fungus attaches to anything that doesn’t move,” Long told Nexstar’s WHNT last year, adding that he’s spent thousands to try and clean the fungus from his property.

  • In Italy, there is a secret bank with branches in Rome, Florence, Padua, Prato, Naples and Reggio Calabria. It’s a credit institution that moves billions of euros to China by way of offering special services to special customers. Italian investigators call it ‘China’s underground bank’, especially Guardia di Finanza’s [Finance Police] investigators: they were the first to understand that something strange is going on. “The ‘China underground bank’, which moves billions of euros to China and offers special services for special customers such as drug traffickers, tax evading entrepreneurs, Russian oligarchs, super rich Chinese and even those who have cheated the superbonus system , is shameful and must be stopped as soon as possible. We cannot allow money from evaded taxes or illegal activities to be laundered in our country and then end up in the hands of foreign governments and finance wars and drug trafficking,”, the national co-spokesman of Green Europe Angelo Bonelli concludes.

  • The Pentagon is looking into the possibility of installing US-made missiles on Soviet-era MiG fighter jets, used by Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, two Department of Defense officials and another person familiar with the matter told Politico. The weapons are AIM-120 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM), designed to be fired by Western planes, including F-16s, and have a range of just over 100km (62 miles), the outlet reported on Tuesday.

  • The UK government is researching the possibility of creating its own high-altitude surveillance airships, according to the March issue of Desider, a magazine produced by Britain’s Ministry of Defence. This comes shortly after the scandal over a Chinese “spy balloon” in US airspace. The UK defense ministry last year signed a £100 million ($118.6 million) contract to research “stratospheric uncrewed air systems,” according to The Times’ report published Monday. Britain is considering buying a fleet of spy balloons, it added. Project Aether is a research initiative that aims to “better understand the stratosphere and the high-altitude platforms that could operate there,” Ross Corbett, the project’s military requirements manager told Desider.

  • Texas Republican Bryan Slaton has presented a bill that could set up a referendum to “investigate the possibility” of independence for the state of Texas from the US. Should the proposal be approved, a vote on whether to explore the option to leave the Union will be scheduled. The bill, which state representative Slaton posted to Twitter on Monday, is officially titled the ‘Texas Independence Referendum Act’ – or ‘Texit’ for short. If it passes, the referendum on whether Texas “should reassert its status as an independent nation” will be scheduled for November 7, 2023. Under the Texas constitution “all political power resides in the people,” Slaton wrote. “After decades of continuous abuse of our rights and liberties by the federal government, it is time to let the people of Texas make their voices heard,” he said.

  • Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has lashed out at his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, accusing him of attempting to drag Belarus into Kiev’s conflict with Moscow. On Tuesday, Lukashenko told the media that a Russian A-50 surveillance aircraft sustained minor damage in a drone attack on the Machulishchy air base in Belarus last week, adding that the assault had been carried out by a “terrorist” recruit of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU). “There can be only one conclusion… President Zelensky is just scum. Just scum, as such operations are never carried out without the consent of the head of state and the commander-in-chief. I am telling you this as a president,” the Belarusian leader said. The exact word that Lukashenko used was “гнида” (gnida), which is Russian for louse egg or nit.

  • The Pentagon’s secret operations branch is seeking capabilities to deploy “next generation” deep fakes in information warfare and hack the Internet of Things (IoT) to track their impact, a procurement document has revealed. The Intercept reported on the initiative on Monday. The document in question outlines a technology wish list for US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), which is responsible for Washington’s clandestine military actions around the world. It was first published in 2020 and last updated in October 2022, adding tools that can falsify images of public figures to its desired inventory, according to the outlet. The command’s Military Information Support Operations (MISO) is seeking a “next generation of ‘deep fake’ or other similar technology to generate messages and influence operations via non-traditional channels in relevant peer/near peer environments,” it states.

  • Children’s author RL Stine has said that he “never changed a word” of his ‘Goosebumps’ books, after it emerged that the series had been edited to reflect modern ‘woke’ sensibilities. News of the changes came amid controversy over the “censorship” of Roald Dahl’s children’s classics. First published in the early 1990s, ‘Goosebumps’ is the second most popular children’s book series after Harry Potter. Characters once described as “plump” are now called “cheerful,” “crazy” has been changed to “silly,” and references to “slaves” and black face paint – neither in a racial context – have been removed altogether. The Times’ report stated that Stine himself made the changes, claiming that he engaged in “self-censoring.” Stine was heavily criticized on social media for his apparent efforts to “appease woke culture.” “I have never changed a word in a Goosebumps book,” he tweeted on Monday, adding that “any changes were never shown to me.”

  • Steven Spielberg, the famous director known for his movies such as “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “E.T.”, has been asked about the recent surge in UFO sightings during a career-spanning interview on “The Late Show with Steven Colbert”. Spielberg said, “I don’t believe we’re alone in the universe. I think it’s mathematically impossible that we are the only intelligent species in the cosmos. I think that’s totally impossible.” While Spielberg is not convinced about aliens traveling millions of lightyears to visit us, he’s more open to the idea that humans may have figured out time travel. He presented Colbert with his own theory that the UFOs we’re seeing are actually humans visiting us from the future. “What if it’s us, 500,000 years in the future, that is coming back to document the second half of the 20th century and into the 21st century because they’re anthropologists? And they know something we don’t quite know yet that has occurred, and they’re trying to track the last hundred years of our history.”

News Burst 9 March 2023 - Crop Circle 2022

24 July 2022, Etchilhampton Hill, Near Devizes, Wiltshire

What are crop circles? Enigmatic geometric shapes mysteriously imprinted on the grain fields of Wiltshire , England and beyond, beckon us to reap a phenomenal gift: the wonder of crop circles. It has been said that crop circles are scientifically proven to be manifestations of energy under intelligent guidance. Theflattened vegetation, which has mysteriously appeared probably since ancient times, bears a distinct geometry. Most often they extend over a considerable portion of the field (about 100-900 feet wide). Since about the end of the 1980s, a time that we can consider the beginning of their modern manifestation, we have found that they resemble more complex pictograms and even messages that can be deciphered as computer code (ASCII). Virtually all authentic formations exhibit consistent geometric patterns.
