- Every year, 2 July is marked as “World UFO Day”. The US faces stiff competition from India when it comes to sightings. In 2017, a report citing senior Indian archaeologist JR Bhagat claimed that 10,000-year-old rock paintings in the tribal Bastar region of India’s Chhattisgarh state, show large human-like figures, landing on Earth from a UFO.In May this year, a strange human-like figure was caught on camera by residents of Hazaribagh city in Jharkhand state. The glossy humanoid appeared naked, gazing at onlookers commuting along the highway. Recordings showed people discussing how strange this “person” looked. A streak of red lights in the night sky was also captured on camera adding to the belief that a UFO was involved.

However, according to Rothmiller’s upcoming book ‘Bombshell: The Night Bobby Kennedy Killed Marilyn Monroe’, he came across secret police dossiers in the Los Angeles Police Department intelligence archives in 1978, which revealed evidence that the legendary singer and actress was murdered by the US Attorney General and the police had chosen to cover this up.
- As COVID lockdowns and social distancing restrictions keep people stuck at home, wildlife is growing bolder. A crocodile was spotted strolling through the streets of Dandeli town in India’s Karnataka state. The reptile perused the town for around half an hour before forest officials caught it and set it loose in the nearby Kali River.
- The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence ended up facing a wave of criticism after photos from the rehearsal of this year’s Independence Day military parade started circulating online. The images in question feature marching women in fatigues and what looks like mid-heel pumps participating in the rehearsal, with the BBC pointing out that, previously, women taking part in such parades in Ukraine had worn army boots.
- A strange circular concrete structure built atop of a network of tunnels dug by the Nazis in the Sowie Mountains in Lower Silesia during World War II might have been part of a project to build and test saucer-shaped flying craft, the Daily Mail reports. The tunnels in question were built by prisoners of Nazi concentration camps as part of Project Riese, whose exact purpose remains unclear due to the lack of documentation.
- In an angry letter to Irish Transport Minister Eamon Ryan, Ryanair Group Chief Executive Michael O’Learypointed to Ireland being the only EU member state that did not switch on the EU Digital Covid Certificate (DCC) for travel. While the Irish government explained the delay by a cyberattack on the national health service system, the Ryanair chief dismissed this reasoning as false. O’Leary called it “discriminatory and unjustified” when fully vaccinated people with the DCC are refused travel. He also cited instances of arriving Irish passengers being threatened with mandatory quarantine and Irish border officers not knowing what the EU COVID-19 certificates look like.

The new strategy replaces the previous version of the document, it is a basic strategic planning document defining Russia’s national interests and strategic priorities, outlining the means to protect citizens and the state from internal and external threats, and setting objectives for the strengthening of national security and ensuring sustainable development over the long term.

The survey discovered that younger generations are much inclined to believing in aliens, while a resounding majority of 87% of the 10k involved in the research think that other life forms do not pose a threat to national security.

Varadia Snail
The newly discovered snail genus Varadia from Amboli hill station in India’s Maharashtra state is reported to be at a high risk of extinction because of gradual loss of habitat. Most active at night, Varadia is 7cm long and feeds on leaf litter, insects, and other small creepy crawlies. “The snail species has been christened ‘Varadia Amboliensis’ as a tribute to the small and picturesque Amboli village where it was discovered in natural jungles near the Hiranyakeshi Temple (in south Maharashtra),” lead research scientist, Dr Amrut Bhosale, told Indian newswire IANS.
