  • Control of Congress is at stake in Tuesday’s midterms, along with Biden’s agenda for the two years remaining in his term.

  • The Russian authorities have opened a new criminal case against Pyotr Verzilov, a founding member of the anarchist punk group Pussy Riot, several news outlets revealed on Monday, citing sources. Verzilov has reportedly been arrested in absentia for publishing false information about the activities of the Russia’s military. He was also placed on the international wanted list. The Interior Ministry has not commented on the matter.

  • There’s been an “exponential increase” of UFO sightings by military. Tucker is right, “It would be a little strange if the Govt was calling attention to it’s own classified weapons programs.” They can’t stop Galactic Federation crafts from being seen. This is the plan. Everything is speeding up to the SHIFT. ~ Kabamur

  • The Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed some Democratic candidates in past elections. But this year, in each of the 13 races it weighed in on, the union decided Republicans would be more forceful champions of law enforcement.

  • Delhi’s 20 million residents were effectively breathing smoke as the air quality index breached the “severe” and “hazardous” categories in nearly all monitoring stations of the Indian capital, raising calls to close schools.

  • The Ethiopian government and regional forces from Tigray agreed to cease hostilities, a dramatic diplomatic breakthrough two years into a war that has killed thousands, displaced millions and left hundreds of thousands facing famine.

  • Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover has heads rolling. And that’s not to mention the complete meltdown journalists and liberal commentators are having over Musk’s idea of paid Twitter verification, which as a fellow Sir Blue Checkmark myself, I find hilarious. The thought of losing their precious blue tick, or, Heaven forbid, sharing it with the common plebeians for a mere $8 per month, has the aristocracy up in arms. So what else does the Tesla founder have in store for us? How far does your $8 take you? Well, for starters, you get prioritized posting, meaning that more people will see your replies at the top of tweet threads, in addition to being able to post longer videos, edit your existing posts, and Musk has mentioned his interest in providing content creators with actual payouts, so you’ll be able to make money from your tweets in the same way that YouTubers, Instagrammers, and TikTokers have been for years. ~ Ian Miles Cheong

  • Musk, the founder of the auto giant Tesla and the world’s richest man with a net worth of more than $200Bln, posted that people were ready to shell out $8 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks, but made a hue and cry about paying the same amount once a month for a blue tick on the platform.

  • NASA first proposed a mission to explore 16 Psyche, an asteroid composed of iron and nickel, back in 2014, with the value of these metals contained in the celestial body estimated at a staggering $10 quintillion. A mission by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to the massive metal space rock 16 Psyche – dubbed the “gold mine asteroid” – will go ahead, the space agency has confirmed. A launch period opening on October 10, 2023, has reportedly been targeted by NASA, after Psyche missed its planned 2022 launch period earlier this year due to a plethora of problems that prompted an internal review. “NASA takes the cost and schedule commitments of its projects and programs very seriously. We are exploring options for the mission in the context of the Discovery Program, and a decision on the path forward will be made in the coming months,” Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington, told media.

  • Dark matter is aptly named. It emits no light and interacts with visible matter only via gravity. But dark matter might be only the tip of an invisible universe of unknown forces. This possibility has led to a hunt for “dark photons.” Such photons are analogous to ordinary photons, but they are exchanged among particles of dark matter, and according to some models, they may have mass. Evidence for dark photons would be a game changer, says the journal Physics, revealing that dark matter leads a secret life that is much more complex than assumed by most theories. The latest search for dark photons at the Large Hadron Collider, however, has come up empty. “The discovery of the dark photon could explain many of the mysteries of the universe, such as the nature of dark matter, while directly addressing experimental observations, such as recent tensions between the muon moment measurements and the Standard Model, and anomalies in cosmic ray observations,” physicist Cris Panda at UC Berkeley wrote in an email to The Daily Galaxy. “This breakthrough discovery could start a new era of Physics in which a myriad of new particles and physical laws are discovered in a short period of time. A wealth of possible experimental and theoretical results could find solutions to many of the currently unexplained phenomena in the Standard Model, such as the nature of gravity, dark matter and dark energy, or the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe”.

  • “Black holes are an incredibly unique and fascinating feature of our universe,” said University of Queensland theoretical physicist, Joshua Foo about their mind-bending ability to have different masses simultaneously. “They’re created when gravity squeezes a vast amount of matter incredibly densely into a tiny space, creating so much gravitational pull that even light cannot escape. It’s a phenomenon that can be triggered by a dying star. But, until now, we haven’t deeply investigated whether black holes display some of the weird and wonderful behaviors of quantum physics. A UQ-led team of theoretical physicists, headed by Foo, ran calculations that reveal surprising quantum phenomena of black holes. “One such behavior is superposition, where particles on a quantum scale can exist in multiple states at the same time. This is most commonly illustrated by Schrödinger’s cat, which can be both dead and alive simultaneously. But, for black holes, we wanted to see whether they could have wildly different masses at the same time, and it turns out they do. Imagine you’re both broad and tall, as well as short and skinny at the same time—it’s a situation which is intuitively confusing since we’re anchored in the world of traditional physics. But this is reality for quantum black holes.” “The universe is revealing to us that it’s always more strange, mysterious and fascinating than most of us could have ever imagined.”

The photographs were taken in 1912 in Antartica by Captain Robert Scott and his crew. However, the photos were classified as soon as they returned to their base and reported the results. Scott and his crew were then reported missing. Since then, it has been a restricted area, with only a few governments around the world allowed to conduct limited research.
