- Norwegian shipping company Havila Kystruten decided that only cars and motor vehicles that use fossil fuel can be transported on board the company’s ships, in selected ports along the coastal route. This means that electric, hybrid and hydrogen cars cannot be transported on board. According to CEO of Havila Kystruten, Bent Martini, the company reached this decision after a “pure safety assessment, and the conclusion of the risk analysis. Hybrid or hydrogen cars will require external rescue efforts and could put people on board and the ships at risk. We take safety seriously, and this is naturally a risk we are under no circumstances willing to take.”
- US Senator Lindsey Graham has disputed Russian criticism of comments he allegedly made during a recent trip to Kiev. A video published by the Ukrainian president’s office appeared to show Graham applauding Russian deaths. The video, which was posted by Kiev on Sunday, shows Graham meeting with President Vladimir Zelensky and discussing US military assistance to Ukraine. At one point in the clip, Graham can be heard saying: “The Russians are dying. It’s the best money we ever spent.” The phrases are separated by an editing cut. “I have no doubts that the puppeteers in Washington and London are starting to question whether these people are sane. I hope that sanctions will be imposed against these so-called leaders,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had responded in a video comment posted on Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin’s Telegram channel.
- The name of José María Fernández Sousa-Faro, president of PharMamar, is on the list of names of thousands of false vaccinated against the coronavirus in Spain, as confirmed by police sources and reported by El Periódico de España. The president of the pharmaceutical company, founded 36 years ago, which has made headlines for the effectiveness of its drug Aplidin against covid, is among the more than 2,200 names on the list drawn up by the National Police on those falsely vaccinated against the disease. - Kevin McKernan, a scientist with 25 years experience in the genomic field and a leading expert in sequencing methods for DNA and RNA. So, if you get this to work, you’ll sort out your mRNA sequencing problems,’ McKernan explains in a recent interview. ‘They were right about that. It did sort out our problems. But what we discovered in the process is that they weren’t pure mRNA. They actually had a lot of DNA in the background.’ McKernan was shocked, ‘It’s not what we were looking for… I had this hunch that the new modified nucleotides they have in the mRNA may have a higher error rate, and therefore we would see more mistakes in the mRNA. So, I knew we would have to sequence like a millionfold deep… over and over again to find these mistakes. When we did that DNA popped up and I thought “Oh, that’s a bigger problem. We have to focus on that.” … I kind of went into panic mode, realizing that I didn’t budget any time to look into this, and the world has to know about it.’
- Türkiye’s Supreme Election Council confirmed Erdogan’s decisive victory over Kemal Kilicdaroglu on Sunday evening. - China is planning to send astronauts to the Moon by 2030, Lin Xiqiang, deputy director of the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), announced on Monday. - The US dollar’s dominance in global trade and finance will persist for decades despite the challenges, as there are no viable alternatives at the moment, according to Moody’s Investor Services rating agency. “We expect a more multipolar currency system to emerge over the next few decades, but it will be led by the greenback because its challengers will struggle to replicate its scale, safety and convertibility in full,” Moody’s analysts wrote in a note.
