  • A magnitude 7.2 earthquake shook the southern coast of Peru early Friday. The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake occurred at 12:36 a.m. (0536 GMT). The epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean, some 5 miles (8 kilometers) west of the district of Atiquipa, in the province of Caravelí. That is some 380 miles south of the capital, Lima, near the borders with Chile and Bolivia. The depth was 17 miles (28 kilometers). Earthquakes are frequent in Peru, as the country is located in the Pacific “Ring of Fire.”

  • Welsh police visiting a man’s home because he displayed a Reform UK political sign on the wall, despite this being a completely normal sight during election season. Voice of Wales posted a clip to X showing an officer at the man’s house talking about how “concerns” had been expressed about the sign and that he needed to take a photo of it. The officer also took a photo of another Lest We Forget Flag that is sometimes displayed outside homes to honor Britain’s war dead. Such “concerns” were deemed a potential threat despite the fact that, according to polls, around 15-20 per cent of the British population is set to vote for Reform UK in the national election on July 4th. According to Voice of Wales, the complaint was made by the charity which who owns the house next door, which is set to be turned into accommodation for asylum seekers (economic migrants). As part of its manifesto, Reform UK has pledged to drastically cut mass migration and stop the flow of small boats containing illegal immigrants entering Britain.

A systematic review of autopsy findings in deaths following “vaccination” for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) that was censored by The Lancet has found new life in the journal Forensic Science International. Review co-author Dr. William Makis, M.D., announced on X that the formerly censored paper has finally been peer reviewed and is now available for online viewing. ~ Ethan Huff

  • Disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein once boasted of being a Mossad agent just like Ghislaine Maxwell’s father Robert, according to the allegations made by a former girlfriend who is now suing his estate. The California woman who filed the lawsuit was identified only as Jane Doe 200. She claimed to have met Epstein in Los Angeles in 2000 and became his girlfriend, until he violently raped her in late 2001. According to Doe, both Epstein and Maxwell strongly suggested that he was an Israeli intelligence agent and warned her that “it was not good to be Epstein’s enemy.” Epstein was “not only extremely wealthy but also suspiciously well-connected, more so than all the other powerful men with whom he associated,” the lawsuit claimed. She also claimed that reporting the rape risked “significant bodily harm or death” because she considered Epstein “a Mossad agent with some of the most unique connections in the world.”

  • Throughout history, the possibility of extraterrestrial life has fascinated humanity. While mainstream narratives often focus on well-known incidents like Roswell, there exists a myriad of lesser-known encounters that provide intriguing glimpses into potential interactions with beings from beyond our world.

  • Some fans have reported suffering a bizarre phenomenon after attending the UK leg of her Eras Tour: total amnesia. After four hours of adrenaline, excitement and more than 40 songs, Swifties are returning home and realising they can’t remember a thing. Psychologists say it’s a recognised syndrome, caused by heightened emotions and a buzzing atmosphere making it harder to form memories. US gig-goers have already reported the strange symptom, which experts call ‘post concert amnesia’. And now social media is filled with haunting accounts from fans who attended Swift’s London dates and have been hit by it.

  • Barcodes have been the global standard for products for more than 50 years. GS1, the nonprofit standard organization in charge of regulating barcodes worldwide, plans to replace barcodes with a QR-style product code, which is designed to store more comprehensive information for retailers and consumers. Under “Sunrise 2027,” a project that aims to “make barcodes smarter,” GS1 introduced “2D barcodes” to address the evolving demands for information transparency, product authentication, and global supply chain traceability. • On the sacred slopes of Everest, summer heat is thinning snow and ice, increasingly exposing the bodies of hundreds of climbers who died chasing their dream of climbing the world’s highest mountain. Among those who climbed the towering Himalayan mountain this year was a team not aiming for the 29,032-foot summit, but risking their lives to take down a few corpses. Five as-yet-unnamed frozen bodies have been recovered – including one that was only skeletal remains – as part of Nepal’s mountain clean-up campaign on Everest and adjacent peaks Lhotse and Nuptse. Rescuers spent hours chipping away at the ice with axes, while the team sometimes used boiling water to loosen the frozen grip. “The bodies and rubbish are becoming more visible as the snow cover thins,” said Aditya Karki, a Nepalese army major who led the team of 12 soldiers and 18 climbers.

  • Nimisha Priya (35) is from Kerala, south India, and her story has been hitting the headlines back home: she was convicted for the murder of her Yemeni business partner, and is awaiting a pardon from the victim’s family in exchange for ‘diya’, or blood money. A major step towards a resolution was completed on Monday (June 24) when a group of Malayalis (as people from Kerala are known) completed collecting $40,000 required for the pre-negotiation with the clan heads (to which the victim’s family belongs). Of this sum, $20,000 was transferred to India’s ministry of external affairs. The ministry in turn will pass the money on to the Indian embassy in Djibouti, the country across the Horn of Africa, which handles India’s affairs in war-torn Yemen.

  • The state secretary for environment, climate change and energy of the Maldives has been jailed, reportedly on suspicion of casting spells against the country’s president. The Maldives are an archipelago located southwest of India, known for their sandy beaches and luxury resorts which are popular with tourists worldwide. Most of the local residents are Muslim. Fathimath Shamnaz Ali Saleem was arrested on Sunday, along with two suspected accomplices, police in the capital, Male, said on Thursday. A magistrate has ordered her to stay in jail for a week, pending investigation. Police did not say what Shamnaz was charged with, and declined to confirm or deny media reports that it involved “black magic” directed at President Mohamed Muizzu.

  • Oklahoma’s top education official has ordered all public schools in the state to teach the Bible and the Ten Commandments to their students in a move that critics claim violates the US Constitution. Ryan Walters, Oklahoma’s superintendent of public instruction, called the Bible “one of the most foundational documents used for the Constitution and the birth” of the United States. It is a necessary “historical document to teach our kids about the history of this country, to have a complete understanding of Western civilization, to have an understanding of the basis of our legal system,” Walters argued. “Requiring a Bible in every classroom does not improve Oklahoma’s ranking of 49th in education,” State Representative Mickey Dollens said in a statement. “The state superintendent should focus on educating students, not evangelizing them.”

  • A robotic assistant ‘employed’ at the Gumi City Council in South Korea ended its existence while at work, plunging into a stairwell, the administrative body announced on Wednesday. The incident at the council occurred last week; the robot had been seen “spinning in one place as if something was wrong” before falling two meters from the top of a staircase. “Parts of the robot have been collected and will be analyzed by the manufacturer,” an official with the city council told AFP. The robotic assistant, manufactured by a California-based startup called Bear Robotics, took on the administrative role at the council last August. The robot had its own employee card and worked from 9am to 4pm, transporting documents around the building, providing assistance to visitors.

  • American and Japanese researchers have managed to develop a new genome editing technique, no longer based on “cut and sew” – as in the Crispr system – but using a sort of molecular bypass. The new genome editing method was presented in two studies just published in Nature. The first by scientist Patrick Hsu of the US Arc Institute and the other by Hiroshi Nishimasu of the University of Tokyo. The new technique could soon be added to the tools of genetic engineering, the aim of which is to develop new approaches that allow modifying DNA, selecting, removing, modifying or replacing a defective segment of DNA and thus treating any genetic diseases.

News Burst 29 June 2024 - Santa Cruz Del Islote

Santa Cruz Del Islote

Santa Cruz del Islote is a small Caribbean island, located in the San Bernardo Archipelago, just off the coast of Colombia. This strip of land has a population of 1,247 who all reside in less than 12 thousand square meters. This makes 105,000 people per square foot – undoubtedly the place with the highest population density in the world. The island has four times more density than the island of Manhattan in NYC. Legend has it that the island was discovered 150 years ago by a group of fishermen looking for new waters throw their nets. They decided to spend the night there and, in the morning, they were surprised to realize that they had not been bitten by mosquitoes, which was rare for the area. They then decided to stay on the island forever. Today there are 90 houses on the island, two shops, a restaurant and a school that does not go beyond the tenth grade. There is no sewage system, no running water and electricity is provided by a generator that works only five hours a day. Drinking water is provided every 3 weeks by the Colombian Navy ships, and there is not even a cemetery – the dead are buried in the nearby islands.
