The Danish military has published a video of gas leaking from Russia’s Nord Stream pipeline into the Baltic Sea due to a breakdown that was reported by the pipeline’s operator on Monday. - Apple’s AppStore blocked on Monday most applications provided by the Russian VK ecosystem, including the country’s largest social networking service, VKontakte. The US tech giant has so far not publicly provided any reasons for the move. The removal also affected the group’s VK Music, Youla classifieds advertisements board, Domclick real estate platform, and other apps. VK holding (previously known as Mail.ru Group) has confirmed the removal of the apps, assuring users that already installed applications will continue to work on Apple devices. “VK will continue to develop and support applications for iOS. Our experts do everything to maintain and continue to improve user comfort, ”the company said in a statement, admitting, however, that end-users might experience issues with payments. Apple has remained silent on the matter and provided no reason for the removal of VK’s apps.
- According to a 2021 Pew survey, only 39 percent of Indians are vegetarian, while out of those who eat non-vegetarian food, 81 percent eat meat or chicken with some restrictions – like they avoid eating them on certain days due to religious concerns or don’t eat certain non-vegetarian meals. India has been witnessing a controversy over non-vegetarian food. Recently, demands have been raised by some groups in a few states of the country to ban the sale of meat or chicken, especially during Hindu festivals. In one such development, three charitable trusts of Jain religion and a businessman filed a petition in the Bombay High Court urging a ban on advertisements of non-vegetarian food items, alleging that they infringe on their right to live peacefully and tamper with the minds of the children.
- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned criticized Athens for an alleged militarization of its islands in the Aegean Sea. The real goal of Athens’ confrontational stance towards Türkiye is hindering the country’s progress towards greatness, the president said, in a speech on Monday following a meeting of the Turkish cabinet. Last week, media in Türkiye showed what they claimed to be footage shot by Ankara’s military drones, showing armored vehicles being unloaded from a Greek landing ship. The hardware was allegedly donated to Athens by Washington.

On September 17 this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released eight cheetahs from Namibia into India’s Madhya Pradesh state’s Kuno-Palpur National Park. Ilu, along with her handler Sanjeev Sharma from the forest department at Kuno National Park, are due to undergo seven months of training at Indo-Tibetan Border Police’s (ITBP) National Training Centre for Dogs to protect the recently-released cheetahs, ANI has reported. During the course of the training, Sharma shared that Ilu will be trained to detect tiger and leopard skins, bones, elephant tusks and other body parts, bear bile, Red Sanders, and several other illegal wildlife products.
