  • The European Commission Wednesday asked the former president of Finland to prepare a report on how to enhance Europe’s civilian and defense preparedness. “We know that [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s ambition does not end in Ukraine,” Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said, speaking alongside former Finnish President Sauli Niinistö. The announcement comes ahead of Thursday’s EU leaders’ summit, where defense will be a main topic. In Finland “defense preparedness is not just the military’s concern, it is everyone’s concern,” she said, adding: “We have a lot to learn from Finland. It is a specific mindset, and I believe we should adopt it more widely in Europe … people can be prepared for all emergencies, including military, hybrid threats and natural disasters.” Finland has more than 1,300 kilometers of border with Russia and is keeping a very close eye on the war in Ukraine.

  • The Tennessee State Senate has now passed an anti-geoengineering bill, this needs to serve as an example to all other states and countries around the world.

  • The first patient to receive a brain chip from Elon Musk’s company Neuralink has appeared to play online chess. Neuralink released a nine-minute video in which the patient, who is paralysed below his shoulders, appears to move a cursor across a laptop screen with nothing but his thoughts. The video shows him playing chess and turning off the laptop’s music. The patient, who had not been previously identified, said in the live stream video that his name is Noland Arbaugh, 29, who was paralysed below the shoulder after a diving accident.

  • Exercise mimetics are a proposed class of drugs that aim to do exactly what the name suggests: mimic the health benefits of exercise. SLU-PP-332 and the new compounds fall into this category. “These compounds simulate some of the same adaptations that occur in muscle with exercise. So, your muscles think that they are exercising even though they may not be,” Thomas Burris, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Pharmacodynamics at the University of Florida, tells Fortune. “They improve metabolic health, they cause weight loss, fat mass loss, improved insulin sensitivity, [and] improved exercise endurance.” Burris is part of Elgendy’s research team. With the skyrocketing popularity of GLP-1 agonists—the class of drugs that treat obesity such as Wegovy and Zepbound—people are increasingly turning to pharmaceuticals to aid in weight loss, Burris says. But he stresses that GLP-1s cause the loss of muscle mass and function in addition to body fat. The exercise mimetics he and his colleagues are studying may temper those effects.

  • The Chairmen of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees, Jim Jordan (R-OH) and James Comer (R-KY) say that a whistleblower has brought them information that ‘seems to corroborate our concerns’ that the CIA directly interfered with DOJ and IRS investigations of Hunter Biden. According to the whistleblower, the CIA “intervened in the investigation of Hunter biden to prevent the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) from interviewing a witness,” the letter, addressed to CIA Director William Burns, reads.

  • A museum in Britain has claimed that some birds are “queer” and that the history of animal queerness has been “hidden from the public”. The Hastings Museum and Art Gallery is running an LGBTQ history exhibition funded by Arts Council England which claims that some birds are “queer” because they “change their sex from female to male.” The Telegraph notes that the claims about birds such as pheasants are completely unfounded and have no scientific basis. Biologist Dr Emma Hilton, who is also a board director of the gender-critical campaign group Sex Matters, noted that “The only vertebrates that change sex are all fish. Birds do not change sex.” ~ Modernity.news

  • X owner Elon Musk hit back at leftists complaining that he is right wing by outlining his “centrist” political views, highlighting how far the Overton window has shifted. Responding to a post noting how crazy it is that the man developing rocket ships to take the human race to another planet is being attacked, Musk declared that he is in “a battle to the death with the anti-civilizational woke mind virus.” He then laid out a few key political stances he believes in, asking how they can possibly be perceived as “right wing.” In modernity world these things are now all right wing. It’s not Elon Musk or any of the rest of us who have changed. Just a few years ago, Obama was calling for secure borders and a halt to unrestricted illegal immigration. ~ Steve Watson

  • A major study published in scientific journal The Lancet has found that the global population will start to fall within decades due to vastly reduced fertility rates and may never recover. The study, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, found that by the year 2050, 155 of 204 countries are on course to have birth rates lower than required to sustain the population level. It notes that as of 2021, the “total fertility rate” worldwide was 2.23, hovering only just above the 2.1 children per woman needed to maintain population growth. That figure has fallen from 4.84 in 1950, with researchers predicting it will decrease to 1.83 in 2050 and go as low as 1.59 by 2100. Commenting on the study, it’s co-author Dr Natalia Bhattacharjee said declining fertility rates “will completely reconfigure the global economy and the international balance of power and will necessitate reorganising societies”. Bhattacharjee, lead research scientist at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, also noted that a major consequence will be increased immigration from countries where there is still a “baby boom,” such as sub-Saharan Africa, in order to make up workforce shortages in nations with aging populations. Professor Stein Emil Vollset, senior author from IHME, also noted that the world is “facing staggering social change through the 21st century” due to population decline. The findings are exactly what the likes of Elon Musk have been warning of for years, describing population decline as a ‘civilisational threat’ and urging that humanity is literally going to disappear if something is not done to reverse the trend. While Eco loons rage about ‘moral issues’ with having children, the potential causes of fertility decline, such as plastics and chemical shrinking penises and sperm counts, are relatively ignored. ~ Modernity.news

  • Texas and 15 other US states have have filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration, saying the ban on exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) goes against the Natural Gas Act and Department of Energy policy, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement. “Texas, along with Louisiana and fourteen other states, has filed a lawsuit to void the unconstitutional LNG export ban, which ignores the Natural Gas Act’s presumption in favor of exports, decades of Department of Energy policy, and State and private reliance on exports,” Paxton said on Thursday. According to the lawsuit, the states that have filed for the lawsuit are Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

  • The US House of Representatives passed a $1.2 trillion government funding bill on Friday ahead of a partial government shutdown deadline, sending the legislation to the Senate for consideration. The bill provides $1.2 trillion in funding, including $300 million for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative and $3.3 billion for Israel.

  • Russian forces are engaged in a gradual, methodical advance through the Donbass, cracking heavily fortified Ukrainian defenses after blunting last year’s counteroffensive. Meanwhile, Kiev’s NATO allies have been dropping increasingly obvious hints that they’re looking for a way out of the quagmire after leaving their client state in ruins. America’s self-anointed ‘newspaper of record’ has called into question Ukraine’s strategy of “defending places with little strategic value” at the cost of both men and weapons as Washington’s military support shows signs of running dry. “Military analysts have described Ukraine’s strategy as ‘hold, build and strike’ – holding the line in the country’s southeast, replenishing its units with fresh troops and hitting back with long-range drone attacks on oil refineries and military logistics targets inside Russia,” the New York Times wrote in an expose published Wednesday.

  • Billionaire Bill Gates has revealed that global governments have agreed to make digital IDs mandatory for anyone who wants to access basic services and participate in society. In recent years, Gates and his globalist allies at the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the United Nations (UN) have developed a digital identification system that will be implemented in every country in the world. The system is being developed to include support for bank accounts and digital cash integration alongside vaccine passports. Gates has previously stated that the plan involves ensuring that every single human being on the planet can prove their identity with a global digital ID. The United Nations , the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and partners at the Rockefeller Foundation are launching a campaign to accelerate the implementation of digital identity, digital payments and data sharing in 50 countries under the umbrella of public digital infrastructure ( DPI) by 2028. ~ Hunter Fielding

  • France’s position on the world stage today is in a rather strange state of affairs: a country with a solid nuclear arsenal but which has lost all ability to influence its environment. Over the last few decades, Paris has lost what remains of its former greatness on the world stage, ceded its leading position within the European Union to Germany, and completely abandoned the principles needed for its internal development. In other words, the protracted crisis of the Fifth Republic has reached a stage where the lack of solutions to the many problems that have long been overdue is turning into a full-blown identity crisis. The reasons for this situation are clear, but the outcome is difficult to predict. And the clownish behaviour of President Emmanuel Macron is only a consequence of the general deadlock in French politics, as is the very appearance of this figure at the head of the state, which used to be led by grandees of world politics such as Charles de Gaulle or François Mitterrand. The last time Paris demonstrated an ability to act on its own in a really important decision was in 2002-2003. At the time, it opposed US plans to illegally invade Iraq. French diplomacy, then led by the aristocrat Dominique de Villepin, was able to form a coalition with Germany and Russia and deprive the American attack of any international legitimacy. ~ Timofey Bordachev, Valdai Club

  • Washington has not received a formal notice from Niger’s military government for the withdrawal of US military personnel and civilian contractors from the Sahel nation, Pentagon official Celeste Wallander has said. “The self-identified government of Niger has not asked or demanded that the United States military depart,” Wallander claimed, adding that “they have assured us that American military forces are protected and they will take no action that would endanger them.” Last Saturday, Niger’s new rulers, who came to power following a coup in July, announced they were canceling a defense pact that had allowed around 1,000 American troops, including support personnel, to conduct intelligence-gathering and counterterrorism operations in the country.

  • EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has insisted that Ukraine’s Western backers will not be sending troops to “die for Donbass,” and they should not needlessly frighten their citizens by hyping the prospect of a direct conflict with Russia. “I have heard some voices saying ‘war is imminent’,” Borrell told reporters on Thursday before attending the European Council summit in Brussels. “Well, thank God, war is not imminent. We live in peace. We support Ukraine. We are not part of this war; we just support Ukraine.”

  • Kiev is “disappointed with Britain’s stance” on the conflict with Russia, sources in the UK defense sector have told the Daily Mail. The UK is being overtaken by Germany and the Nordic states as Ukraine’s leading European backers, the industry operatives, who wished to remain anonymous, told the news outlet in an article published on Wednesday. The sources also griped that Britain’s leaders are not coming across as bellicose enough compared to French President Emmanuel Macron, who has publicly refused to rule out deploying troops to Ukraine. “The UK was the first country to give NLAW anti-tank rocket launchers, the first country to pledge tanks, so we received some leeway from Kiev,” one of the sources said. “But we are not pushing through capability thresholds any more. We’ve spent our political capital with [Ukrainian President] Vladimir Zelensky and we are not spending enough on military aid.”

  • The icy realms at Earth’s poles harbor enigmas that challenge our understanding of history, geography, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Below the vast, frozen landscapes lie secrets, buried and preserved, whispering tales of the past and possibilities of the future. Here are five startling mysteries concealed beneath the polar ice, offering a glimpse into the unknown. In the late 1940s, Admiral Richard Byrd led Operation Highjump, the most extensive Antarctic expedition of its time. Diary entries from Byrd suggest the discovery of something far more bewildering—an entrance to the Earth’s core and encounters with advanced beings concerned about humanity’s nuclear capabilities. Whistleblower accounts and satellite imagery have hinted at the presence of ancient, man-made structures embedded in the Antarctic ice. Descriptions of vast, octagonal buildings with hieroglyphs unlike any known human script suggest a civilization with advanced knowledge and technology, possibly of extraterrestrial origin. The myth of Atlantis, a technologically advanced civilization that perished in a great deluge, finds echoes in Antarctic mysteries. This theory is bolstered by ancient texts and geological evidence, suggesting a catastrophic event that could have flash-frozen a once-thriving society, preserving its legacy beneath the ice. The Antarctic ice has been the focus of UFO sightings and speculation about alien bases hidden from human eyes. These narratives are supported by the modern UFO era’s onset coinciding with significant human activities in the region, suggesting a keen interest from otherworldly observers in our planet’s nuclear advancements. The advent of satellite technology has allowed independent researchers to uncover anomalies in Antarctica’s geography that hint at possible alien artifacts or crash sites. One such finding is a trail, consistent with a high-speed object’s path, stretching from the North to the South Pole. Additionally, satellite images have revealed entrances and objects that defy natural explanation, suggesting either ancient human ingenuity or evidence of extraterrestrial visitation.

  • Brown dwarfs’ inability to light up like normal stars has earned them an unfortunate nickname of failed stars, but new findings from the Hubble Space Telescope have revealed that they can’t even hold a relationship together. However, there is a large gap in the literature on this topic. While about 75% of massive stars in the universe are known to have a companion star, and about 50% of Sun-sized stars are seen in such binary configurations, the number of brown dwarf binaries detected is almost zero. Why should that be? Well, Hubble observations may have an answer. The older the brown dwarf is, it would appear, the less likely it is to have a companion. This implies that the gravity binding binary pairs of brown dwarfs could be so weak that the two bodies drift apart over a few hundred million years. What might make them drift apart? Perhaps the much stronger gravitational pull of any other stars passing by.

  • By tracking the motions of billions of stars in our galaxy, the Gaia space telescope has been unraveling the history of the Milky Way — and the spacecraft’s latest findings disentangle that story in a more literal way than ever before. Gaia has discovered two ancient streams of stars that appear to have woven together over 12 billion years ago. The streams of stars are so old that they likely formed before even the spiral arms or extended disk of the Milky Way began to take shape. These streams have been named after the Hindu gods Shakti and Shiva, who united to create the universe (or macrocosm). This is fitting as these ancient stellar streams likely came together to form the very foundation of the galaxy in which we live.

News Burst 23 March 2024 - Es Vedra

Es Vedra

The mystical island of Es Vedra, located off the eastern coast of Spain, has long been considered the tip of the long-lost continent of Atlantis. Stories circulate that it served as the birthplace of Phoenician goddess Tanit and that seductive sirens and sea nymphs hung out there in Ulysses’ day. More modern reports say UFO’s and USO’s (Unidentified Swimming Objects) lurk in the waters around the island after reports of mysterious circles of light emerged from the sea. We don’t know where all the stories come from but there certainly seems to be something strange around these parts. Some think that as the third most magnetic place in the world the island gives off weird vibes. Es Vedra floats less than two miles off the west coast of Ibiza.

News Burst 23 March 2024 - UFOs

Mexico

A pair of UFOs were spotted soaring over an oil rig off the coast of Mexico where locals have claimed is home to a secret underwater alien base. A crew member of the vessel near Tampico snapped two images – one showing a saucer-shaped craft with glowing lights circling the base and the other with a triangular design and three lights on the bottom. The witness said the UAPs ‘hovered for what seemed like 10 minutes and then ‘just zoomed off in an instant,’ a source told DailyMail.om. Locals of Tampico believe the underwater extraterrestrial base has been protecting them from hurricanes for more than 50 years.
