  • Foreign minister of Slovenija, Tanja Fajon, signalled her submission to the WEF’s globalist agenda with a demand that sovereign nations must “respect” the “New World Order.” Globalists have hinted in multiple panels about their frustrations with national governments breaking from key agendas of the WEF, including global pandemic response, the war in Ukraine and climate change. The tone of Davos has so far been decidedly morose, with many in attendance lamenting the outcomes of global pandemic measures and the lack of unification on climate change. What they do not mention, at least not directly, is that much of this is due to mass public resistance in many regions. It would seem that the establishment made assumptions about their progress in 2022 that did not come to fruition.

  • Another six classified documents were found this week by the US Department of Justice during a search of President Joe Biden’s family home conducted by a special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, according to the president’s personal lawyer, Bob Bauer. Some materials were from Biden’s stint in the Senate, between 1973 and 2009. President Joe Biden’s “I have no regrets” response to the ongoing classified documents scandal has been excoriated by a legal expert on conservative US media as “infuriating”. All the 46th POTUS could come up with when highly classified material surfaced in his former office, and the garage and library at his Wilmington, Delaware, home, was to first quip he was “surprised”, and later tell the press: “We’re fully cooperating and looking forward to getting this resolved quickly… I think you’re going to find there’s nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. It’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no ‘there’ there.” The discovery of classified papers in his garage was further dismissed by Biden with a remark that it is a locked garage that also housed his beloved 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Biden’ remarks had come after he had been stonewalling the press for days. All these “choice” statements amid a serious probe into potential mishandling of classified material was slammed as ranging from “baffling” and “downright infuriating,” to “remarkably moronic” by legal scholar Jonathan Turley.

  • Peru has “indefinitely” shut the tourist site of Machu Picchu, citing ongoing anti-government unrest gripping the country. The decision was announced by the country’s culture ministry on Saturday. “The closure of the Inca trails network and the Machu Picchu citadel has been ordered due to the social situation and to preserve the safety of visitors,” the ministry said in a statement. The sites will remain closed until further notice, with those who bought tickets to visit them eligible for a refund. The closure of Machu Picchu was preceded by reports of damage to the railway leading to the 15th century citadel, allegedly inflicted by anti-government protesters. As a result, more than 400 tourists ended up stranded at the site, according to the country’s tourism ministry.

  • New Year’s Day or Chunjie in China is the Festival of Spring, called “Nian” in Chinese. Its history goes back more than 4,000 years. It is the longest-awaited and longest-lasting celebration in China and other East Asian countries. Chinese New Year does not have a specific date; it is determined by the lunar calendar. It is used in the Celestial Empire in everyday life. In 2023, the Chinese New Year fell on 22 January, marking the start of the Year of the Rabbit, according to the Chinese zodiac. Celebrations in China will last two weeks – until the New Year by the solar calendar, 4 February.

  • Protesters set a Swedish flag ablaze in Istanbul on Saturday in response to the public burning of a copy of the Koran by an anti-Islam activist near the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm. The incident took place amid a diplomatic spat between Türkiye and Sweden that may have repercussions for the Nordic country’s bid to join the NATO military bloc.

  • During the interview, Chomsky, who is Laureate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Arizona, was asked to expand on his remark that humanity could be pathologically dedicated to self-destruction. The philosopher recalled that in recent years the Doomsday Clock, which reflects how close humanity is to Armageddon, has moved closer to midnight, which symbolizes the extinction of humanity. He suggested that in several days it could be set even closer to this mark.

  • The UK Home Office has turned a blind eye to the disappearance of dozens of unaccompanied migrant children from a Sussex hotel it operates as a children’s home, according to an investigation by The Observer published on Saturday. Of the 600 unaccompanied minors who have passed through the Home Office-run premises in Brighton over the last 18 months, some 136 have been reported missing, and 79 of those are still unaccounted for, the news outlet’s investigation found. A whistleblower with Home Office security contractor Mitie told the paper that the alleged kidnappings are bold, frequent, and not limited to the Brighton facility. “Children are literally being picked up from outside the building, disappearing and not being found,” the security guard reportedly said, suggesting “traffickers” are responsible. A similar facility in Hythe, Kent allegedly lost 10% of its young charges every week.

  • Retired engineer Errol Musk’s home in the Western Cape of South Africa has been treated to an expensive security makeover, courtesy of his billionaire son Elon, who has expressed growing concerns about potential attacks on his family. The 76-year-old patriarch described the ‘first-class’ security system – and the rationale behind it – to The Sun on Saturday. Errol told the British outlet, admitting “if they kidnap one of us, it will be the quickest $20 million anybody’s ever made in their life.” “I’m really afraid that something might happen to Elon, even though he has about 100 security guards around him,” Errol confessed, describing his son as “a bit naïve about the enemies he’s making, especially with the Twitter Files.”

  • State legislators have called on New York City’s Madison Square Garden arena to stop weaponizing facial recognition technology against patrons or risk losing its lucrative $43 million tax abatement. In a letter published last week, they demanded the venue’s owner MSG Entertainment “immediately stop the use of this inappropriate technology on fans.” “MSG Entertainment is using facial recognition systems to automate discrimination, violate individuals’ privacy, and chill any criticism of the company,” the letter reads. “It sets a dangerous precedent to permit MSG Entertainment to maintain such power.” MSG, which also operates Radio City Music Hall, must commit to destroying patrons’ data as soon as it is no longer needed. If MSG does not comply, it risks losing not only the $43 million tax abatement, but a special city permit (due to expire this year) allowing Madison Square Garden to seat more than the normal limit of 2,500 people, as well as multiple liquor licenses.

  • The motion capture suits that allowed filmmakers to create fascinating alien characters in blockbusters like Avatar have been hailed by UK scientists as a “gamechanger” for research into diseases which impair movement. As artificial intelligence (AI) captures a person’s movement to animate the individual, it offers a physics simulation imitating real-life motion. Accordingly, AI could be used to analyse body movements, suggested a recent study, published in the journal Nature Medicine. Developing the new technology and adapting it to the specific needs took the group of researchers from Imperial College and University College London around 10 years. In two separate studies, the scientists ran trials with the motion sensor suits on patients suffering from Friedreich’s ataxia (FA) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). However, according to the study, the technology could be applied to track patients recovering from other diseases affecting movement as well.

  • The “green” Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) was discovered by astronomers at the Zwicky Transient Facility in early March 2022, and estimated that it will make its closest approach to Earth on February 2, coming within 26.4 million miles (42.4 million km) of our planet. Slowly but surely gaining in brightness, a green-hued, long-forgotten comet is heading towards planet Earth. The comet, known as C/2022 E3 (ZTF), is set to make its closest approach on February 2. However, one can already observe the intriguing object comprised of dust and ice using binoculars or a telescope, provided the night sky is clear and moonless.

Giant Squid Sluggishly Swimming

A pair of scuba divers has captured rare video and photos of a 2.5-meter (eight-foot) giant squid swimming in the waters off Japan’s west coast.
“We didn’t see the kinds of agile movements that many fish and marine creatures normally show,” he said. “Its tentacles and fins were moving very slowly.”
