- “Great Reset” mastermind Klaus Schwab suggests a number of draconian measures for controlling the population under the umbrella of the ‘4th Industrial Revolution’, including risk-assessment brain scans to cross borders and implantable chips to read people’s thoughts. World Economic Forum founder Schwab has repeatedly emphasized how technocrats need to take advantage of the coronavirus pandemic to implement “The Great Reset,” a sentiment that was echoed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during a recent UN video conference. Schwab notes that the use of such technology to conduct mass surveillance and tracking of the population “run(s) counter to healthy, open societies,” yet goes on to present it in a positive light anyway.
- Fields of methane discharge continue to grow all along the East Siberian Arctic Ocean Shelf, with concentration of atmospheric methane above the fields reaching 16-32ppm (parts per million). This is up to 15 times above the planetary average of 1.85ppm. A team of 69 scientists from ten countries documented bubble clouds rising from a depth of around 300 metres (985ft) along a 150km (93 mile) undersea slope in the Laptev Sea, and confirmed high methane concentrations by hundreds of onboard chemical analysis.
- A Indonesian musician who is a drummer for Bali-based punk rock band Superman is Dead was sentenced on Thursday (Nov 19) to 14 months in jail for criticising the country’s medical association on his Instagram account over its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. I Gede Ari Astina, better known by his stage name “Jerinx”, was found guilty of violating Indonesia’s electronic information and transactions (ITE) law and sentenced to 14 months in jail and fined 10 million rupiah (US$707).
- At least 55 people were hurt, some with gunshot wounds, when demonstrators marching on the Thai parliament clashed with police and royalist counter-protesters, in the worst violence since a new youth-led protest movement emerged in July. Police fired water cannon and teargas at protesters who cut through razor-wire barricades and removed concrete barriers outside parliament. Thousands of demonstrators converged on parliament to put pressure on lawmakers discussing changes to the constitution. The protesters also want the removal of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, a former army ruler, and to curb the powers of King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
- In one clip from the one-hour special, body language expert Cliff Lansley analyzes Epstein at a pre-hearing deposition for his alleged sex crimes. Asked about allegations that he procured underage girls for sex for his birthday, Epstein responds, “Nope,” but simultaneously smiles. At the point the three 12-year-old girls are mentioned, we see a head turn away from the interviewer, an eye closure, and the right lip lifts,” Lansley says, conveying that Epstein’s gestures run counter to his denial. Lansley also zeros in on Epstein’s “reddening face” as a sign that the questioning caused him to be anxious. When he was asked about 14-year-old girls, Epstein’s skin tone grew more flushed from a hike in blood pressure, according to Lansley.
- At least 15 per cent of Jakarta and its surrounding suburbs were inundated in January 2020. About 173,000 people had to evacuate in a series of floods, which also killed 66 people. The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted that the La Nina weather phenomenon will bring heavy rains which are 20 to 40 per cent above the intensity seen in previous rainy seasons: “The peak (of La Nina) is predicted to occur between December and February. Therefore, we must brace ourselves (for natural disasters) in December, January and February.”
- The European Union’s ambitious 1.8 trillion euro ($2.1 trillion) seven-year budget and COVID-19 recovery plan has once again run into difficulties as Hungary and Poland continue to voice their disapproval of the bloc’s attempt to link funding to the observation of centrally agreed democratic norms.
- An international team of scientists has announced that they may have discovered a river flowing deep below the surface of Greenland. “The results are consistent with a long subglacial river,” says Christopher Chambers from Hokkaido University in Japan. He added, however, that “considerable uncertainty remains.” The uncertainty Chambers refers to stems from previous studies and aerial surveys of Greenland, which detected a huge subglacial valley system below large parts of the island. Studies also signaled that the valley is segmented, which prevents water from flowing freely through it. Chambers and his colleagues conducted a study designed as a “thought experiment”, which explored a possibility that the valley is not divided into pieces, but runs as an unbroken river.
- The iconic Arecibo radio telescope will be decommissioned, as damage to the facility cannot be stabilised without an unacceptable risk to construction workers and staff, the National Science Foundation (NSF) announced on its website. The observatory became famous in more than just scientific circles after appearing in such movies like “GoldenEye”, “Contact” and the “X-Files” TV series. Its building was completed in 1963, and for more than 50 years it has been considered the world’s largest single-aperture radio telescope.

The mobile devices can measure the cardiac rhythm of the individual and can combine that with other information (e.g. weight, age, etc.) to calculate many things. The devices could thus calculate such things as how many calories they burn in a day, blood pressure, heart rate, breathing and sleeping habits, and blood alcohol levels among other things.
