- According to the theory of the US Department of Defense, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) used for surveillance and espionage missions would have first been obscured with the launch of fuel from a Moscow fighter and then damaged to a propeller by a second interceptor. According to the version of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the drone, which traveled without a transponder, was intercepted for security reasons but there was no collision and it fell by itself due to a risky manoeuvre. Neither Moscow nor Washington report the launch of a missile to bring it down.
- New technologies consume a significant amount of rare earths and other strategic minerals, which are almost exclusively imported from China. For thirty years, the EU, like the United States and Japan, has abandoned the production of these minerals in favour of importing them from China. This dependence on imports makes Europeans vulnerable because, in addition to the defence and space sectors, the dual digital and green transition of the European economy requires technologies that consume an ever-increasing quantity and variety of these minerals. China, which has embarked on a race for technological leadership with the objective of self-sufficiency in production capacity, now has powerful leverage over its competitors if it decides to restrict its exports.
- The international criminal court in The Hague has issued arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and his children’s rights commissioner, Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, for the “unlawful deportation” of Ukrainian children. The judges considered issuing secret warrants but decided that making them public could “contribute to the prevention of the further commission of crimes”. Moscow has said it does not recognise the jurisdiction of the ICC.
- Former Meta employee Brit Levy has taken to TikTok to share her “weird” experience in Mark Zuckerberg’s social media giant. In a video which has now amassed more than 1 million views, Levy explained: “I was hired in April 2022; three days after I was hired we were asked to take a diversity survey. “I mean, like, we were just sitting there. We had to basically fight to find work. It was a very strange environment and it kind of seemed that Meta was hiring people so that other companies couldn’t have us and they were just hoarding us like Pokémon cards.”
- Scientists say they are worried after finding rock made from plastic debris on a remote island in South America. The discovery was made on Trindade Island, an uninhabited volcanic island off the east coast of Brazil. Experts say that melted plastic has become intertwined with the rocks and that pollution has mainly come from fishing nets. The island isn’t inhabited by humans, however the site is an important, protected area for green turtles.
- (BLM) movement and related causes have received a staggering $82.9 billion from corporations, according to a new Claremont Institute funding database . The Claremont Institute’s Center for the American Way of Life explained the need for their report in an article published in Newsweek , in which the Center stated that the 2020 BLM movement was not all about ” riots and destruction “. “As a point of reference, $82.9 billion is more than the GDP of 46 African countries. In 2022, Ford Motor Company profits were $23 billion ,” they also noted. The $82.9 million sum includes “more than $123 million directly to BLM’s parent organizations ,” as well as other organizations supporting the BLM agenda. The list reveals that several popular corporations from a range of different industries have provided the movement with large sums of money. Arkansas-based Walmart , for example, has donated a whopping $100 million in support of BLM and related causes focused on “racial equity.” Amazon has given even more, giving the movement a staggering 169, $5 million Silicon Valley Bank donated $73.45 million.
- The US Department of Defense funds private internet monitoring firms NewsGuard and PeakMetrics, which trawl the web for “misinformation” to censor and demonetize websites, conservative news outlet The Federalist reported on Friday. NewsGuard is a private company that rates news outlets by their “reliability” and reputation for sharing “falsehoods and misinformation narratives.” Before a Congressional hearing last week, journalist Matt Taibbi labeled the company a part of the “censorship-industrial complex,” publishing an image of a $750,000 grant award from the Pentagon to the firm. During the hearing, reporter Michael Shellenberger explained that NewsGuard uses its ratings system to drive advertiser revenue away from conservative sites or other “disfavored publications.” In an email to Taibbi, Newsguard’s CEO Gordon Crovitz denied receiving government funding, stating instead that the government pays for access to its data. The Pentagon, he wrote, is specifically looking for evidence of “Russian and Chinese disinformation.”
- Credit Suisse shares resumed their decline on Friday, erasing the previous session’s gains, as investor concerns continue rising despite the news of a $54 billion lifeline. The slide came after the bank’s biggest investor, Saudi National Bank (SNB), confirmed it would not be able to provide further financial assistance due to regulatory and statutory limits. The market turmoil engulfing the Swiss lender was triggered by last week’s collapse of US tech lenders. On Thursday, Credit Suisse announced it would borrow up to 50 billion Swiss francs ($53.8 billion) from the country’s central bank, the Swiss National Bank, to reassure investors it had enough money to stay afloat. In addition to the loan, the troubled lender repurchased billions of dollars of its own debt to manage the liabilities and interest-payment expenses.
- The US has called for an informal meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to discuss the integration of the human rights of LGBTQ and intersex individuals (also known as ‘LGBTI’) into the organization’s efforts to maintain “international peace and security.”

- NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) launched in June 2009 and has been providing great looks at the moon ever since. Among the probe’s seven instruments is the LRO Camera (LROC), which snaps high-resolution black-and-white imagery of the lunar surface. On March 3, as LRO flew over Shackleton Crater near the moon’s south pole, LROC captured a photo with part of the Malapert Massif area in view. Malapert is one of the potential landing sites for NASA’s crewed Artemis 3 mission in 2025.
- A remarkable photograph, recently unearthed from the depths of the once-secret Project Blue Book files, has ignited a resurgence of interest in UFO phenomena. The image, captured on March 20, 1950, depicts a cylindrical UFO hovering over New York City, accompanied by numerous smaller objects believed to be extraterrestrial probes. For decades, the military attempted to conceal this captivating image, offering dubious explanations such as attributing the sighting to “the moon.” The clumsy cover-up continued with the erasure of the photographer’s name from the project’s files, along with the names of other individuals connected to the case. As reported on March 10, 2023, the Pentagon has recently acknowledged the possibility of alien motherships dispatching probes to Earth. The 1950 photograph provides compelling evidence to support this claim, suggesting that the government has been aware of the existence of such “motherships” for many years.

Al Mansur Yacht
Saddam Hussein’S Yacht was one of the targets of the allied forces that invaded Iraq, and later capsized and remained in the middle of the Shatt el Arab waterway. In the days of rulelessness that followed Saddam’s fall, the yacht was stripped and ransacked, and everything from chandeliers and furniture to parts of the metalwork was taken. El Mansour, one of three yachts owned by Saddam Hussein, could accommodate 200 guests and had a helipad. The 121-meter-long El Mansour yacht, it is one of the favorite places for tourists and fishermen who climb the wreck to fish or drink tea, reports Reuters.
