  • A project has been launched to delve into the links that may exist between the ancient Stonehenge monument and a “major lunar standstill”, which happens every 18.6 years. This is when the moonrise and moonset reach their farthest points apart along the horizon – and will take place in January 2025. The project will give archaeologists, astronomers, and archaeoastronomers a rare chance to explore theories surrounding the event and the ancient people of Stonehenge. Some experts believe the monument was built by people who were aware of the major lunar standstill and perhaps buried their dead in a particular part of the site because of its relationship to the phenomenon. It is also possible that four “station stones” forming a rectangle at the site – two of which are still standing – were intentionally positioned to mark the major lunar standstill.

  • Over 27? Unmarried? Female? In China, you could be labelled a “leftover woman” by the state – but some professional Chinese women these days are happy being single. Still, she knows that these days, single, urban, educated women in China are called “sheng nu” or “leftover women” – and it stings. Even the website of the government’s supposedly feminist All-China Women’s Federation featured articles about “leftover women” – until enough women complained. State-run media started using the term “sheng nu” in 2007. That same year the government warned that China’s gender imbalance – caused by selective abortions because of the one-child policy – was a serious problem. National Bureau of Statistics data shows there are now about 20 million more men under 30 than women under 30.

  • Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has accused US politicians of playing political games around the issue of aid for Kiev, claiming that they do not care how many people in his country are dying. Zelensky’s comments come as US lawmakers prepare to vote on a controversial aid package for Ukraine that has been stalled in Congress for months due to a bitter dispute between Democrats and Republicans. In an interview on Monday, Zelensky referred to comments made at the weekend by Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson. The US politician told Fox News that he planned to move forward with a vote on an aid bill for Israel this week, without specifying when a Ukraine package would be taken up, or whether it would be tied to funding for West Jerusalem. “This is pure politics, and it’s a disgrace for the world and a disgrace for democracy,” Zelensky told PBS NewsHour. “Nobody cares how many people are dying in Ukraine every day. They only care about their approval ratings,” he added.

  • The price list of Rome’s killers: 40 thousand euros to kill, for a big name the price rises to 150 thousand. Kidnappings for 3,000 euros, torture for 600. One hundred thousand euros to kill a boss, 150 for an Albanian crime ambassador in Italy, 40 for a wingman who raised his head. And then 5,000 euros to thank the killer who spared the intended victim. But there are also those who buy confidential information for 500 euros for each unauthorized access and those who need a pole or a driver for 1,250 euros.

  • According to UNICEF, approximately twelve million girls — or one in five — across the world are married before their eighteenth birthday each year. In the United States, child marriage is a pervasive issue with devastating domestic consequences. Between 2000 and 2018, almost 300,000 children were married in the United States alone, with approximately 30,000 to 60,000 of those marriages occurring at a spousal age difference that should have been considered a sex crime. Because there is no federal law regulating child marriage, states are free to establish their own requirements. Child marriage remains legal or unchecked in 46 states. While most states do impose a minimum marriage age, the majority of them set that age at under 18. Additionally, the majority do not require marriage applicants to furnish official proof of their age, which allows many underage children to slip through the cracks. Other states permit the practice to continue through parental, judicial, religious, or pregnancy exceptions. Only four states — Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, and Rhode Island — have banned child marriage outright by requiring that both parties provide official proof that they are 18 years or older before they can obtain a marriage license. The United States Department of State has called marriage before 18 a “humans rights abuse” that “produces devastating repercussions for a girl’s life, effectively ending her childhood.” To protect children and secure their futures, the practice of child marriage must be outlawed. The movement to end child marriage and sex abuse in the United States is growing, and CHILD USA is dedicated to reforming the laws to ensure children are not married before the age of 18. Immigration law does not specify a minimum age to petition for a foreign spouse or fiancé(e) or to be the beneficiary of a spousal or fiancé(e) visa, which allows for American girls to be trafficked for their citizenship and allows for children around the world to be trafficked to the U.S. under the guise of marriage. Further, the federal criminal code prohibits sex with a child age 12 to 15 but specifically exempts those who first marry the child. This incentivizes child marriage and implicitly endorses child rape.

  • The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project posted an image on X of what they say is a flyer from a non-governmental organization operating in Mexico encouraging migrants to vote for President Biden once they arrive in the United States. “Reminder to vote for President Biden when you are in the United States. We need another four years of his term to stay open,” part of the flyer read. The Oversight Project said the flyer was initially discovered by a Muckraker journalist while touring the site of Resource Center Matamoras in Mexico. “They [flyers] also appear to be handed out when illegal aliens use the RCM for assistance in coming to the USA,” the group said. ~ Tyler Durden

  • Unpunished crime is so out of control in San Francisco that the city now wants to punish grocery stores who want to leave. Under the ‘Grocery Protection Act’ introduced by city Board of Supervisors member Dean Preston (Democratic Socialist), stores that want to flee all the crime and other increased liabilities will have to provide the city with six months advanced notice, and make efforts to find a replacement supermarket for the location being vacated, Benzinga reports. The move comes after While Foods shut down its flagship store in San Francisco after being open for just over a year, citing employee safety concerns. The reports show how workers at the store were routinely threatened with weapons, while vagrants would throw food at staff, engage in fights, and even defecate on the floor. Nearly 570 emergency calls were logged from the location, including one call with desperate pleas to the police saying “male [with] machete is back,” and “another security guard was just assaulted.”

  • Not only are they drawing comparisons to COVID-19, they are in fact claiming that bird flu has the potential to be 100 TIMES MORE DEADLY! While Dr. McCullough poses little threat to humans at this moment, he does caution that a mutated bird flu pandemic would serve several of the globalists goals. Bill Gates and the World Economic Forum (WEF) believe we should reduce our reliance on animal food products as part of their globalist views.. Thus, a food scare in westernized countries with market recalls and destruction of poultry and meat would further dystopian goals for the Davos club]. H5N1 has a historical fatality rate of 52.16% in humans and fear alone could drive considerable anxiety in large populations not only about exposure through food, but pets, and other humans.

  • The House Select Committee on China revealed in a new report that the Chinese Communist Party uses tax rebates to subsidize the manufacturing and exporting of fentanyl chemicals. The report said, “Through subsidies, grants, and other incentives, the PRC harms Americans while enriching PRC companies.” Biden’s disastrous open southern borders have allowed the flow of these illicit drugs to invade the nation along with millions of unvetted illegal aliens. The report suggests the government establish a joint task force to counter the global fentanyl supply chain. It also advises ramping up enforcement measures at the border and closing regulatory and enforcement gaps. In recent years, especially under the Biden administration, more than 100,000 Americans have died of drug overdoses each year.

  • Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and discussed the situation in the Middle East after the Israeli strike on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus, the Kremlin said on Tuesday. “The aggravated situation in the Middle East after the Israeli airstrike on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus and the retaliatory measures taken by Iran were discussed in detail,” the statement said. Putin expressed hope that all parties in the Middle East will show restraint and not allow for a new round of confrontation, the Kremlin said.

  • In the first three months of the Israel-Gaza conflict, about 160 Palestinians were refused visitor visas by Australia mostly due to concerns that they would not stay temporarily, a recent report revealed. About 150 people were refused because they “did not demonstrate a genuine intention to stay temporarily in Australia”, while ten others who applied were rejected for other reasons. This report comes after one made a month ago which revealed that some Palestinians who had been granted visas were experiencing cancellations. Nearly 2,300 temporary visas—allowing persons to travel to Australia but not work, access healthcare, nor education—had been granted to Palestinians with Australian connections between October 7 and February 6. However, only 330 people made it to Australia during that time period. Rasha Abbas, the co-founder of the Palestine Australia Relief and Action Foundation, said that many of the rejected Palestinians had been “encouraged” by the Australian government to use the tourist visa clause that was being rejected. “We are really perplexed as to what changed,” said Abbas. Palestinian groups and refugee advocates later said they were “relieved” when the federal government finally reversed its visa cancellations for those fleeing Gaza.

  • O.J. Simpson will be cremated and his brain won’t be donated to CTE research. “His entire body, his brain, everything, his fake hips, his fake knees, everything,” Malcolm LaVergne, the executor to Simpson’s estate, told People. “That all goes into the crematorium.” LaVergne said Simpson’s family gave a “hard no” to clinics asking that Simpson’s brain be donated to test whether Simpson had CTE. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy is a brain disorder caused by multiple head injuries, resulting in the death of nerve cells and degeneration. The disease is thought to affect many football players, but it can only be confirmed once the person is dead and their brain is studied during an autopsy.

  • Global Times exclusive: Volt Typhoon false narrative a collusion among US politicians, intelligence community and companies to cheat funding, defame China. Labelling Volt Typhoon, a hacker group, as a China-sponsored actor, has been found to be an underhanded campaign by US politicians, intelligence community and companies, which intended to “kill two birds with one stone” – hyping the “China threat theory” and cheating funding from the US Congress and taxpayers, according to a latest report from China’s National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center obtained by the Global Times. On May 24, 2023, the cybersecurity authorities from The Five Eyes countries – the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, issued a joint cybersecurity advisory, claiming that they had discovered cluster of activity of interest associated with a “China state-sponsored cyber actor,” known as Volt Typhoon, and these activities “affected networks across US critical infrastructure sectors.” The advisory cited a report, which was released by Microsoft on the same day as its main reference with the name Volt Typhoon also cited in the Microsoft report. In the report, Microsoft claimed that the Volt Typhoon is a state-sponsored actor based in China that typically focuses on espionage and information gathering. Later, major Western news outlets such as Reuters, Wall Street Journal and New York Times widely reported about the advisory and the Microsoft report. In a report on May 24, The New York Times wrote that US intelligence agencies identified cyberattacks against telecom operator in Guam and other US territory, and connected it with the advisory.

  • The U.K. will criminalize the creation of sexually explicit deepfake images as part of plans to tackle violence against women. People convicted of creating such deepfakes without consent, even if they don’t intend to share the images, will face prosecution and an unlimited fine under a new law, the Ministry of Justice said in a statement. Sharing the images could also result in jail. Rapid developments in artificial intelligence have led to the rise of the creation and dissemination of deepfake images and videos. The U.K. has classified violence against women and girls as a national threat, which means the police must prioritize tackling it, and this law is designed to help them clamp down on a practice that is increasingly being used to humiliate or distress victims.

  • Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who is paying a three-day visit to the Asian nation, have discussed the Ukrainian crisis and expressed opposition to the use of nuclear weapons and attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities, China’s state-run reported on Tuesday. The leaders exchanged opinions on the Ukrainian crisis and reiterated that China and Germany are committed to upholding the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, the broadcaster said. The parties also expressed their support for the proper resolution of international food security issues and respect for international humanitarian law. China supports the idea of convening an international peace conference to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, recognized by both Russia and Ukraine, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who is paying a three-day visit to the Asian nation.

  • The mysterious object that crashed through the roof of a Florida home last month did indeed come from the International Space Station (ISS), NASA has confirmed. That home, in the seaside city of Naples, belongs to Alejandro Otero. Shortly after the March 8 incident, Otero said he thought the offending object was part of a cargo pallet packed with 5,800 pounds (2,630 kilograms) of aging batteries jettisoned from the ISS in March 2021. And he was right, according to a new NASA analysis of the object, which was performed at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center.

  • The Milky Way has a big newfound black hole, and it lurks close to Earth! This sleeping giant was discovered with the European space telescope Gaia, which tracks the motion of billions of stars in our galaxy. The new discovery is a landmark, representing the first time that a big black hole with such an origin has been found close to Earth. The stellar-mass black hole, designated Gaia-BH3, is 33 times more massive than our sun. The previous most massive black hole of this class found in the Milky Way was a black hole in an X-ray binary in the Cygnus constellation (Cyg X-1), whose mass is estimated to be around 20 times that of the sun. The average stellar-mass black hole in the Milky Way is about 10 times heftier than the sun.

  • The current “standard model” of the cosmos, its history, and its evolution is called the Lambda Cold Dark Matter (LCDM) model — but the supremacy of this model, in which lambda represents the cosmological constant and dark energy, may now be under serious threat. In short, that is because new observations of the cosmos have suggested that dark energy, the force causing our universe to expand faster and faster, seems to be weakening. That may not sound like much in and of itself, but this finding actually has the potential to cause the first major paradigm shift in cosmology since the discovery of the accelerated expansion of the universe just over 25 years ago. It could even suggest out universe won’t end in a “Big Rip,” or a “Big Chill,” but rather a “Big Crunch.” More on that shortly, first, let’s dive into these fascinating results.

  • In Silicon Valley, where technology billionaires regard aging and even death as one more pesky bug to fix, it’s only natural that fountain-of-youth-themed packages are surfacing on activities menus at the region’s finest hotels. Nobu Hotel Palo Alto, among the area’s most stylish retreats, recently unveiled Longevity, a program built for extended stays—as in living to age 100 and beyond. Modeled on the diet and lifestyle of the so-called ‘Blue Zones,’ geographic centers around the world with a concentration of centenarians and common characteristics that contribute to their longevity and health, the Nobu program provides a mix of food, fitness and feel-good fixes that set the tone for a long-game approach to life.

  • Astronomers operating the CSIRO’s Parkes radio telescope in Australia say they have detected unusual radio signals from Earth’s closest magnetar that are “behaving in complex ways.” A previous dormant star with a powerful magnetic field, XTE J1810-197, is only 8,000 light years away, making it the closest such star to Earth. However, unlike a typical magnetar that emits polarized light, this magnetar appears to be sending out radio waves that are circularly polarized. That means the light appears to spiral as it moves through the universe. Such a discovery was not only unexpected; a press release announcing the discovery said, “It is totally unprecedented.”

“Black Room”

The Pompeii ruins, which were first discovered in the 16th century, have become the second most-visited archeological site in the world. A banquet room filled with well preserved frescoes has been unearthed among the Pompeii’s ruins. The striking discovery is a 15-meter-long, six-meter-wide room which was found in a former private residence in Via di Nola during excavations. The room’s walls are covered in detailed paintings inspired by the Trojan War. The room has been dubbed the “black room” due to the color used in the backgrounds of the paintings which were done in an ornate style and date between 15 BC and AD 40-50.
