  • Sir Evelyn de Rothschild was remembered as “a very special man” Nov. 8 – He died at 91.

  • Laziness regularly prevents nearly half of the French population from leaving their homes, a new study has revealed. The “epidemic of laziness,” which is affecting roughly 45% of the population, is a direct consequence of the Covid lockdowns, the researchers say. “This laziness to leave home particularly affects the medium age groups: 52% among 25-34 year olds and 53% among 35-49 year olds, against only 33% of those 65 and over,” according to the study by the International Market Research Group (IFOP) and the Jean-Jaures foundation think tank.

  • The ongoing controversy surrounding social media platform Twitter, particularly its now-defunct ‘Blue’ paid verification scheme, is embarrassing the world’s richest man and causing large multinationals to lose tens of billions in market capitalization. At the end of October, billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk completed a $44-million deal to take over Twitter. He immediately cut thousands of jobs, including many in the communications department and from high-ranking positions in charge of trust and safety. Then Twitter Blue, a service that provides official verification for an $8-per-month fee, was rolled out. Chaos ensued after that and the service was suspended.

  • The German Defense Ministry was forced into damage-control mode last week after uniforms bearing the initials ‘SS’ were delivered to thousands of soldiers. The controversial abbreviation merely stood for the uniform size, identified as ‘S-Short’ by the Bild tabloid, which branded the incident a “mega fail.” Despite the innocent meaning of the SS on the uniforms, the letters were still a no-go for the German Armed Forces, given the strong association with the infamous Nazi “Schutzstaffel” (Protection Squadron) unit.

  • The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may have had up to eight informants in the right-wing ‘Proud Boys’ fraternity ahead of the Capitol Hill riot on January 6, 2021, the New York Times reported on Monday. Five members of the group are facing trial next month over their alleged involvement in the attack. According to “heavily redacted” court filings cited by the outlet, the defense for those five members argued that some of the information the FBI’s sources had provided “was favorable to their efforts to defend their clients against sedition charges” and was “improperly withheld by prosecutors” until recently. The NYT’s revelation came amid claims by some Republicans and conservative commentators that the Capitol riot was part of a false-flag plot by the FBI against then-President Donald Trump and his supporters.

  • Israel has carried out its own probe into the death of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and won’t cooperate with the FBI’s investigation into the incident, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz tweeted on Monday. Media reports claimed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had launched a probe into the killing of Palestinian-American media worker, who was shot dead while covering an Israeli raid in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank in mid-May.

  • Afghan judges have been ordered to fully implement sharia law and its punishments, which include mutilations, flogging and executions, by Taliban supreme leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada. The announcement was made on Sunday by the Taliban’s chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid. “Carefully examine the files of thieves, kidnappers and seditionists. In those files in which all the Sharia conditions of Hudud and Qisas have been fulfilled, you are obliged to implement. This is the ruling of Sharia, and my command, which is obligatory.” In Islamic law, the so-called Hudud crimes require both very conclusive evidence for the accused to be convicted, while carrying heavy, traumatic punishments such as amputation of hands or feet, as well as flogging and execution. This group of crimes includes such offenses as theft, highway robbery, apostasy, adultery and false accusations of same, slander, drinking alcohol, and rebellion.

  • Greene King, the owners of the historic “Black Bitch” pub in West Lothian, Scotland have announced that they will proceed with renaming the establishment due to concerns its old name could be considered racist. The 350-year-old pub, which has been the pride and joy of the town of Linlithgow, will now be called “The Willow Tree,” despite months of pressure from angry locals who have vehemently opposed the name change. Campaigners say the original name has nothing to do with race and is instead a reference to a local legend of a female greyhound that brought food to its starving owner who was stranded on an island. The black dog is even featured on the town’s heraldic crest and has inspired a statue in the town center.

  • NATO powers are using the conflict in Ukraine as a testing ground for some of their newest weapons systems.
The US-led Western alliance has trialled intelligence, communications and weapons systems in combat against Russian forces — undermining its claim that it is not involved in the conflict. Kiev regime’s Vice Prime Minister and Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov made the revelation at a NATO conference in Norfolk, Virginia in October, US media reported on Tuesday. “Ukraine is the best test ground, as we have the opportunity to test all hypotheses in battle and introduce revolutionary change in military tech and modern warfare,” Fedorov said.

  • A German association tending to the graves of the war dead has said it wants to start segregating the Ukrainians from Russians and other nationalities of the former Soviet Union, starting with the cemeteries in Hamburg. “We’re starting to differentiate,” Christian Luebcke, managing director of the Hamburg chapter of the German War Graves Commission (Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge) told the German news agency DPA. There are approximately 1,400 Soviet war dead buried in Hamburg cemeteries, Luebcke estimated. German and Western Allies note their nationality only as “Russian” or “Soviet,” but he said the VDK would try to distinguish Ukrainians by their birthplace, such as Kiev.

  • A team of researchers in Israel has announced the discovery of what appears to be the earliest evidence of humanity’s ancestors using fire for cooking. Whereas previously it was believed that early Homo sapiens and Neanderthals used fire for culinary purposes only 170,000 years ago, the new study pushes that date back to around 780,000 years ago. The researchers arrived at this conclusion after examining a site called Gesher Benot Ya’aqov located in northern Israel near the banks of the Jordan River, where a large number of fish fossils was found.

The government isn’t trying to expose their own secret programs. Top secret crafts don’t light up brightly to be recorded over and over. Galactic Federation is allowing crafts to be seen gradually to avoid causing fear and are imitating our blinking lights to partially blend in. ~ Kabamur
