  • World leaders are urging Israel not to retaliate after Iran launched an attack involving hundreds of drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron told the BBC on Monday the U.K. does not support a retaliatory strike, while French President Emmanuel Macron said Paris will try to “convince Israel that we must not respond by escalating.” The Iranian attack on Saturday marked the first time Iran has launched a direct military assault on Israel, despite decades of enmity dating back to the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. The attack happened less than two weeks after a suspected Israeli strike in Syria that killed two Iranian generals in an Iranian consular building.

  • Senior Ukrainian officials couldn’t help but feel sidelined by the outpouring of US attention and support for Israel as Tel Aviv sought to fend off an unprecedented Iranian missile and drone attack over the weekend. There’s a good reason for that, says former US Marine Corps intelligence officer and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter. President Zelensky took to X on Sunday to plead with US lawmakers not to forget about Ukraine, saying “it is critical that the United States Congress make the necessary decisions to strengthen America’s allies in this critical time” by delivering on the aid package promised by President Biden six months ago. Zelensky’s comments were echoed by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who told reporters on Monday that Ukraine also needs help from its Western partners, even if it’s not in the form of direct military help – like Israel got.

  • Italian Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara is working on a provision that will prevent the closure of schools on the occasion of religious holidays if there is no agreement between the state and the faith in question, sources said. The possible move is being considered in the context of a dispute over a school near Milan that was closed on Wednesday to allow Muslim students, who make up around 40% of pupils, to celebrate the Eid-al-Fitr holiday which marks the end of Ramadan. The decision of the Iqbal Masih comprehensive school in Pioltello caused an uproar, with the principal receiving death threats on the web.

  • According to the study “The Chile that comes”, carried out by Cadem in 2022, a 87% of Chileans assured that their pet is “a “another member of the family” and 67% said that suffer when your pet “something happens to you.” Taking into account this reality, Chilean parliamentarians from different political sectors presented a bill that grants a work permit from one day to the death of a pet. The socialist deputies Daniella Cicardini and Daniel Manouchehrialong with his peers Pamela Jiles (IND) and Diego Schalper (RN) presented the project called “Duke Law”which will allow establishing a special work permit and a leave of absence for one day of classes for students, in the event of the death of a pet.

  • In a high-stakes showdown with Gov. Andy Beshear over a gold and silver sales tax exemption, the Kentucky legislature today deemed his attempted line-item veto as an illegal act — and directed the Secretary of State to enroll the exemption into law. This action makes the Bluegrass State the 45th state in the nation to enact this sound money policy – and the second this year. Originally introduced by Rep. Steven Doan as a standalone bill, the sales tax exemption on purchases of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins, bars, and rounds enjoyed strong grassroots support — thanks, in large part, to the hard work of the Sound Money Defense League, Money Metals Exchange, and in-state activists. ~ Tyler Durden

  • French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to “do everything possible” to have an ‘Olympic truce’ in the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine during the upcoming summer Games in Paris. The Games will run from July 26 to August 11. Over 300,000 people are expected to watch the opening ceremony on the Seine River. The French leader indicated he would ask for help in organizing a truce from Chinese President Xi Jinping, who will be visiting Paris in early May. Xi had “the same work to do” in 2022 on the occasion of the Winter Olympic Games, Macron noted. The tradition of an ‘Olympic truce’ dates back to ancient Greece, when warring rulers agreed to lay down arms during the games so that athletes and spectators could travel safely to and from the venues.

  • Nigeria has rolled out a new meningitis vaccine – Men5CV – becoming the first country in the world to do so, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Friday, hailing the move as a step closer to the global goal of eliminating the disease by 2030. The former British colony launched an emergency vaccination campaign late last month, seeking to reach more than 1 million people aged 1-29, the WHO said in a statement published on its website. The vaccination activities are funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, which also funds the global meningitis vaccine stockpile and assists low-income countries with routine immunization against infection, the statement added.

  • Venus Aerospace has completed the inaugural test flight of a drone fitted with its “rotating detonation rocket engine” (RDRE) — accelerating it to just under the speed of sound. The company wants to one day build superfast commercial jets using this new type of engine. In the test flight, conducted Feb. 24, the company flew the drone, which is 8 feet (2.4 meters) long and weighs 300 pounds (136 kilograms) to an altitude of 12,000 ft (3658 m) by an Aero L-29 Delfín plane, before it was deployed and the RDRE was activated, company representatives said in a statement. The drone flew 10 miles (16 km) at Mach 0.9 — over 680 miles per hour — using 80% of the RDRE’s available thrust. The successful flight proved the viability of RDRE and the associated onboard flight systems. Three weeks earlier, Venus Aerospace demonstrated the viability of its RDRE technology with a long-duration test burn — during which engineers showed their engine worked for the duration of this test flight.

  • Astronauts are supposed to file taxes no matter where they are working, even on the International Space Station (ISS). In 1970, in fact, one astronaut on a moon mission got in a pickle when he discovered he forgot to file his taxes before leaving Earth, which we’ll talk more about below. Here we have very general guidance on how astronauts pay taxes and what happened to that astronaut in 1970, who was on a mission called Apollo 13. Remember that we are not tax experts here, so if you happen to be an astronaut (or potential astronaut) curious about how to pay taxes, please consult an accountant or similar tax professional familiar with your country.

  • A viral video shows two men pushing several red stone boulders off a cliff at Lake Mead National Recreation Area last week. A young girl screams during the video while standing just a few feet behind the men on a cliff as they push the boulders down a steep slope of stacked boulders at Redstone Dunes Trail. The Lake Mead Recreation Area website notes that the boulders and formations found at the dunes are millions of years old. “The dunes responsible for these formations existed one hundred forty million years ago,” the website explains. “Over time, geological forces turned the loose dunes into hard sandstone. The fiery eroded formations on this trail were once part of a vast desert landscape.” Learning of the incident and seeing the video left Lake Mead public information officer John Haynes upset and revulsed by the action. “I got sick to my stomach; it was so disgusting,” he said of the incident, which authorities believe occurred on April 7.

  • We’re about to find out what’s happening with NASA’s beleaguered Mars Sample Return mission. The mission has been ongoing for several years, with the deployment of the Perseverance rover in February 2021. Part of Perseverance’s mission is to gather interesting samples of Martian rock to be collected by another mission and returned to Earth. Last year, the future of the Mars sample return mission became shaky after an independent review determined that the program had “unrealistic budget and schedule expectations”, an “unwieldy structure” and was “not arranged to be led effectively”. “NASA’s Perseverance rover is collecting compelling science samples that will help scientists understand the geological history of Mars, the evolution of its climate, and prepare for future human explorers. The return of the samples will also help NASA’s search for signs of ancient life.”

Namibia Africa

Discovered accidentally by a farmer in Namibia Africa, the Hoba meteorite remains a mysterious marvel. This mammoth slab of iron, weighing a staggering 60 tons, is Earth’s largest natural chunk of iron. It’s estimated to have impacted our planet some 80,000 years ago, and one of the most fascinating aspects of the meteorite is that it left no impact crater, despite its immense size. #drthehistories

Gold Cube

Underwater explorer Scott Cassell describes an encounter with an illuminated gold cube that mimicked his speed and departed quickly without disturbing the water. This encounter demonstrates how even peaceful sightings can invoke fear. There’s nothing to be afraid of, and more importantly, there’s likely a connection between the UFO and observer. These kinds of sightings will always be Galactic Federation.
———-
NEIOH – “Scott Cassell is a Pleiadian Soul named TAGOKIMUK. He is visiting Earth in this incarnation from life on Merope. He Serves the Light with Bi-local Operations. He has many friends in the Galactic Federation. In his Explorations of underwater Operations of Service he encountered a device of high Technology. This was both a camera and device for checking Frequencies. Several of his friends from Merope were nearby in a Mothership beneath the surface of the water. Many of the cubes of Exploration were sent in many directions. The cube allows visualization in real time from the Mothership. A large screen allows the occupants to view all areas where the cube is sent. Data is gathered and the Operation is ended. This is repeated in areas around the Earth, whether deep in oceans or throughout mountainous regions. As Scott was viewing the cube, he was being observed by his friends.”
