Good News March 25 April 1 – Part 1

  • Public Choice, a peer-reviewed journal specializing in the intersection of economics and political science has accepted John Lott Jr’s research showing President Asterisk received hundreds of thousands of excess votes in Democratic-controlled areas in the 2020 election. Looking at six swing states, the data he crunched found that voter turnout in Republican areas increased from 2016 to 2020; voter turnout among Democrats dropped (except in places where voter fraud was claimed); increased turnout occurred in counties where vote fraud is alleged; in specific precincts where there were fraud accusations that touched each other but where one was inside a Republican-dominant county and the other inside a Democratic-leaning county, he found that in-person voting for the neighboring precincts was about the same, but absentee or mailed balloting tilted toward Democrats in the Democratic precincts

  • According to research presented last week to Wisconsin’s state Assembly’s Committee on Campaigns and Elections by True the Vote, 137,500 ballots were cast through illegal vote trafficking throughout several of Wisconsin’s largest cities in the 2020 election

Every Democrat opposed it / Five states have legislation under consideration that would ban or restrict drop boxes. SC’s H3444 and WI’s S939 have each passed both House and Senate. Drop box related bills have passed the first chamber in GA, AZ, and ID. None have yet been signed into law / Five states tightened voter registration laws and requirements: IA, MT, NH, TX, and UT / Arizona’s House and Senate recently passed a law requiring proof of citizenship when registering to vote. That bill is heading to Gov. Ducey’s desk for final approval / Eighteen states created or expanded legislation related to “election-related crimes”: AZ, AR, CA, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ND, NV, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, and WY / NJ prohibited certain electioneering activities / HI increased the maximum fine for providing false information to $10K / Eleven states have either banned or severely restricted the acceptance and use of private funds for state and local elections: AZ, AK, FL, GA, ID, KS, MS, ND, OH, TN, and TX / Five states have passed anti-Zuckerbucks legislation that is awaiting a Republican governor’s signature: AL, IN, OK, SD and VA / Ten states strengthened processes related to “ballot return, verification, and curing” that “restrict voter access”: AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, KS, LA, MT, TX, and UT / Two counties have passed resolutions to eliminate voting machines: Nye County, NV and Rio Blanco County, CO / Texas and Arizona have been two of the most active states in terms of strengthening election integrity laws. • The Public Interest Declassification Board (PIDB) hosted a virtual public meeting. On the agenda: “recommendations for modernizing EO 13526; prioritizing declassification of historically significant records related to the 9/11 Attacks; advocacy for public access to Kennedy Assassination Records postponed from declassification; and progress toward meeting the FY 2022 NDAA requirement to complete a feasibility study on declassifying information on nuclear weapons testing in the Marshall Islands.” According to @JustHuman the takeaways are: 1) Declass is complicated and severely limited by how govt works in general, how the records are catalogued, manpower, lack of a clear and stream lined process; 2) PIDB wants a new EO to address these issues. To speed up declass and FOIA both; 3) PIDB wants agencies to have declass work funded in each agency’s budget; 4) less than 10k JFK related docs are left to be declassed and published. They expect to finish declass and release them all by end of 2022; 5) the NSC is working with PIDB to accomplish declass goals of speeding up the processes and reducing over-classification; 6) seems to be a lot of agreement between political parties, branches of govt, and many agencies on increasing declass, speeding up release, and reducing over-classification; 7) a notable suggestion was to change the way documents are created in the first place so that classification and declassification are easier; 8) suggestions of using AI to help with declass; 9) interesting comments about Space Force being hindered by over-classification and work is being done to address that
