The low pressure pull the wind in, in the high pressure the wind rotate from the center to the outside. Generally the high pressure has hot and humid air and being sucked in the low pressure clashes with cold air and produce the clouds and the rain. There are at least three type of clashes of air masses and they depend from the mass that is moving, or pushing, the other.
If the hot hair is pushing against steady cold air we have a Warm Front, the first air mass is gently lifted above, being less dense, and produce a kind of layered clouds, in this case the bad weather, the rain, is far away, up to several hundreds km. If the cold air is pushing against the hot air we have a Cold Front, the hot air is quickly lifted from below, being the cold air denser, and produce towering clouds and thunderstorms, right on the spot, with strength in relation of the difference of the air masses temperatures. The third option is a mix and it’s the most common, it’s called Occlusion.
You can change the layers shown on the map with the menu on the top right and pan the world using the mouse.
